National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers Certified Appraisal Review Program
The National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers (NAIFA) Certified Appraisal Review Program sets a professional education and experience standard for all individuals involved in mortgage underwriting and the review of real property appraisal reports. Specialized training, education and experience are required for reviewing appraisal reports. There are very few certified appraisal reviewers in the United States today, and
within the industry individual financial institutions have incorporated various levels of appraisal review, but no single national proficiency or ethical standard has been established.
The NAIFA Certified Appraisal Review Program enhances this ethical, educational and professional experience standard through a continuing education component in the certification requirements. All of the Certified Appraisal Review educational courses are available through the NAIFA and administered by approved instructors.
Requirements for a Certified Appraisal Reviewer
· Completion of both education courses
· Submission of an appraisal review demonstration report
· Certified Residential or Certified General Appraiser
· NAIFA member in good standing
· Commitment to a continuing education program or exam
In order to become certified with NAIFA for review appraising you do not need to meet the requirements above, however, if you are interested in these courses for continuing education only, you are welcome to take the classes.
